As usual, Gwyneth Paltrow's taste reigns supreme.

Let me be clear about something up front: I have a serious weakness for Gwyneth Paltrow's taste. She is one of the very few celebrities that when I see her wearing something, or read about her trying a new wellness practice, I could be convinced to buy in by virtue of the fact that it's her doing it. So you better believe that I keep an eagle eye out on her Instagram, and I also breathlessly watched the Ski Accident Trial for the moments of pop culture brilliance, and the fashion of course. One thing that I've noticed over the last year or so is that Ms. Paltrow is a huge fan of the brand Caddis, which makes really stylish reading glasses, progressive reading glasses, and sunglasses. She has worn multiple pairs, including a fabulous pair of aviators during her trial this past March.
I'm not an everyday aviator girl, but the images did put a bee in my bonnet. I got to reading around about the brand and stumbled upon some images with the Goop founder appearing to wear the Miklos style, a classic square frame that doesn't overwhelm a small face but still makes a statement. I knew I had to get a pair.
So get one, I did. Now, I don't need glasses, so I don't need to get a magnification on my lenses, but I did have a pair of Tom Ford blue light blocking frames that were smashed accidentally last fall, so the next logical step was to get my Miklos frames with blue light blocking lenses. And boy, am I glad that I did.
Why you ask? Let's start with the aesthetics. The matte frames are sleek and add a bit of polished contrast to my overall very feminine personal style. They look sharp, but don't overwhelm my face—and my head is small, so it's an even bigger plus that they don't slide down my nose constantly.
The lens type I got was FRQ blue light blocking, which means they are nearly clear and offer the maximum blue light protection possible when looking at electronic devices. This has been helpful to me for a number of reasons. The first being, I've been conscious of working on my neck and head posture over the past year, and eye strain is something that I experience. I find when I wear these, I experience eye strain far less often, especially when sitting under the harsh corporate lighting in the office. I don't wear them all day everyday, but adding them in for bursts of time has certainly been beneficial.
Which brings me to my next point. In my quest to become healthier and manage my stress levels, I've been much more mindful of my sleep hygiene and try as I might, I really struggle to put my phone away for bedtime. I blame my addiction to TikTok. So the compromise is that I wear these in the evenings starting around 7, or if I'm working late until I'm ready for bed. I definitely feel a difference in how wired I am before turndown. All in all, I am obsessed. Maybe I'll even copy Gwyneth and get a pair of aviators...
